So week five of A Theme A Week is copy. I wanted to try my hand at copying one of Monet’s water lily scenes, mistakenly thinking ‘it won’t be that hard’. It was really hard! I took a section of this image to copy –

What I have learnt from this is that 1) I am lazy at mixing colours 2) I need even thinner brushes 3) I get lost in what I want to do rather than focus on what I am meant to be copying.Having seen on this site https://deyoung.famsf.org/monets-water-lilies-returns-legion-honor just how large the original was I wonder if doing it bigger would be easier? It was a good experience though.
