week 2 – light

So week two of A Theme A Week is light. It’s been a grey and dingy week so light was easy to spot!

Similar to last week, my process this week has been to go on a few walks and take photos first. It has been inspiring but I am feeling the limitations of my basic camera phone!

The above image is the one I would choose.

There is nothing quite like the beach in the Winter.

week 1 – winter

So week one of A Theme A Week is Winter. It just so happens to be the first week of January and Winter so inspiration should be easy to find!

My process this week has been to go on a few chilly walks and take photos first. I am then hoping to create something else alongside, maybe using clay or some paint on canvas. Watch this space!

The sky was quite moody. I wanted to get the light within the shade.

The light within the thorny branches made me think about the Solstice, and the light’s return as well as the Christmas star – a light in the darkness.

Sky roots! Such a stunning sunny day but so cold! The bare branches nakedly reach.

They aren’t very obvious but within the thorny bushes a few green leaves grow – a reminder to me that the potential for growth is always there but maybe hidden.

I loved the shadow of the tree but had to be in it myself.

More sky roots!
